Are Business Opportunity Mailing Lists Worth the Effort?

You'll ask yourself this question at some point along the way if you're pursuing a MLM or network marketing business: is it worth the effort to check out business opportunity mailing lists? The problem is that the answer isn't as simple as the question.

There are too many mitigating factors which makes it impossible to say "never." The best that can honestly be managed is "sometimes." It really does depend on the list.

Building Your Own Business Opportunity Mailing Lists.

The list that you build yourself by inviting people to sign up to receive occasional email newsletters from you about your business opportunity and/or the products you have to offer are a potential gold mine for your business.

There is no denying the potential effectiveness of this type of mailing list as long as you are ethical in your list building efforts. So this mailing list type is a definite and resounding "yes!"

Buying Leads for an Email Marketing List.

This is where things get a little "iffy" to put it mildly. The problem with buying leads is that not all leads are developed in the most "ethical" of situations. In fact, many leads are generated by offering incentives to get people to sign up for them.

While there are many people and lead providers that are sincere about getting more information about working from home there are just as many who are not. You need to be very careful before deciding to add these names to your mailing lists.

At the very least you want to refer these people to your newsletter sign up page before adding them to your list (some auto-responders will not allow you to add names that don't fill out a specific form and "opt in" to receive your newsletters not once but twice.

The bottom line is that business opportunity mailing lists remain a force to be reckoned with as long as they are generated in an ethical method that is also compliant with current laws regarding unsolicited emails.
